Zasięg terytorialny RDLP w Łodzi wynosi ponad 22 696 km² i charakteryzuje się najmniejszą lesistością, która wynosi 21% przy lesistości Polski 29,6%. Pod względem administracyjnym obszar obejmuje teren 6 województw, 37 powiatów i 217 gmin. Największa powierzchnia zasięgu działania, jest na terenie województw łódzkiego i mazowieckiego.
